and why

01 / Who this is from

Motorcycle Training NZ. If you want a copy of what we hold about you, want it corrected, or want it deleted, email info@motorcycle-training.com. We will reply within 20 working days, which is the limit the Privacy Act sets.

02 / What we collect

Only what a booking actually needs. There is no account to create and nothing optional is collected quietly.

Email address

To send your booking confirmation and to reach you if a session has to move.

Phone number

To reach you on the day if something changes at short notice.

Full name

To identify you on the assessment paperwork.

Home address

Required on the NZTA assessment forms. We do not use it for anything else and we do not post you anything.

Anything you type in the notes box

So your instructor knows about it before the session.

To answer you.

03 / Cookies

There is no analytics on this site, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Browsing these pages sets no cookies at all.

mt_reservation

Set only when you hold a time slot, so the booking survives the trip to the payment page. It holds the slot reference and an expiry, nothing about you, and it clears itself after ten minutes.

mt_admin

Only ever set for the business owner signing in to manage bookings. Customers never receive it.

Both are strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why there is no banner asking you to accept them. The booking cannot function without the first one, so offering you a refuse button that changed nothing would be dishonest. If we ever add analytics or anything that tracks you, we will ask first.

Your browser also remembers which session you picked while you move through the booking steps. That stays on your own device, is never sent to us, and holds no personal details.

04 / Who else sees it

We do not sell anything to anyone and we do not share your details for marketing. Three services are involved in taking a booking and each gets only the part it needs.

All three operate international networks and decide for themselves which of their locations handles a given request. We cannot pin any of them to one country, so we will not claim otherwise. What we can tell you is that none of them are limited to New Zealand.

Stripe

Your email address and the amount, so the payment can be taken.

Resend

Your email address and the booking details, so the confirmation can be sent.

Cloudflare

Your IP address, for the security check that keeps bots off the booking form.

Your card number never reaches us. Payment happens on the payment provider pages and we only ever see that it succeeded.

05 / How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for seven years, because paid sessions are business records and the tax rules require it. Messages sent through the contact form are deleted once they have been dealt with. Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.

06 / Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to correct anything wrong. Both are free. Email info@motorcycle-training.com and say which you want.

If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

07 / Keeping it safe

The site runs over HTTPS. Booking details sit in a database that is not reachable from the internet. Admin passwords are stored hashed, never in a readable form. If something does go wrong in a way that could cause you harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the Act requires.
